Abstract

Critical analysis of the idea of ‘the End of Art’, connected to a fallacious strangling of the dialectical movement. Hegel boycotts his own concept ofAufhebung (sublation) in conceiving a spirit capable of transcending [u?berflu?geln] its sensible roots. The elimination of the Kantian category of natural beauty is a further sign of Hegel's spiritualistic indifference towards the technical-and-aesthetic constitution of human culture. Musings by thinkers and artists of the 20th century (Musil, Coetzee, Fo?rster, Derrida, Stiegler) shed light on the problem.
