Abstract
As the title suggests, the present volume is a careful compendium—remarkable for both its judicious selection and skillful arrangement—of four studies by the Argentine philosopher Luis Juan Guerrero: a short book entitled ¿Qué es la belleza? (1954), followed by two presentations at the National Congress of Philosophy (1949), “Scenes from Aesthetic Life” and “Torso of Contemporary Aesthetic Life,” culminating in an extraordinary synthesis and analysis in “Overview of German Classical-Romantic Aesthetics as an Introduction to the Study of Contemporary Aesthetic Currents,” which was the inaugural lecture of a series of sessions taught by the philosopher at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (1934).
