Carlos Arnaiz was born in 1948 in the city of Buenos Aires, where he studied at the Manuel Belgrano School of Fine Arts. Between 1978 and 1996, he lived in Madrid and Hamburg. He currently resides and works in Buenos Aires.
Since 1968, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions at various national and international institutions. His most recent exhibition was held at the MACLA, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Latinoamericano, in La Plata, in October 2014. In 2007, he received the Second Prize at the Salón Nacional Argentino in the Drawing category. In 2015, he was awarded the First Acquisition Prize at the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales Argentino in the Painting category.
He has participated and continues to do so in numerous international art fairs, including ArteBA (Buenos Aires Contemporary Art Fair), ARCO (Madrid Contemporary Art Fair), Pinta Art Fair (New York), Art Río (Rio de Janeiro Contemporary Art Fair), SP Arte (Sao Paulo Contemporary Art Fair), Art Basel Miami Beach, and Art Basel Hong Kong.
