The Forms of Poetic “Realization” in Maria Zambrano

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the poetic thinking of María Zambrano. As an introduction, it reviews some of the answers that the question about the place of the poetic word has been given in the context of the mid-twentieth century in Europe. Then it examines the way in which Zambrano thinks the relationship between philosophy and poetry in many of her writings and focuses, thirdly, on her conception of time and memory. Finally, it discusses the concept of “realization”, which had its origins in José Ortega y Gasset and that Zambrano made her own by reworking it and by turning it into the central concept for poetic reason.
