Abstract
The classical theory on the sublime sentiment reveals it as a crucial category of aesthetics from its origins. These notes propose to emphasize its new role in the aesthetics from xx and xxi centuries, emphasis which precisely leads to question developments such as Robert Doran’s in his recent work, La teoría de lo sublime. De Longino a Kant (2021), that, although framed in the concept’s intellectual history, tend in its final reading to maintain positions that became obsolete.
